Sacramento, CA – In a bold move, drought-stricken California has offered the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department $800,000 to host next year’s Firemen’s Fair.
The Golden State extended this generous offer in hopes of utilizing the scientific phenomenon that seems to attract rain to the annual function. Violent thunderstorms and torrential rainfall seem to be virtually guaranteed once the funnel cakes hit the grease.
By hosting the fair, experts predict California stands to gain an extra six inches of rain next year, which would tremendously help the arid wasteland replenish its dwindling water table.
The California fair would remain exactly the same…except for the food: Cajun staples like boudin, jambalaya, and gumbo will be replaced with a variety of berries, leaves, and gluten-free twigs.
Also, Wayne Toups was asked to headline the West Coast fair. It would be his first performance in California since the early 90’s when he played drums for a band called Zack Attack.
